I don't know where to start with the things that I love about this photo session. The space?! The dresses?! The doll face birthday girl?! The balloons?!
When this birthday girl's Mom gave me the green light to "do whatever you want", I was delighted to work with my friend to incorporate a fun element to the milestone photo session using white and clear balloon installments. Using simple, yet unique elements like balloons helps incorporate play and fun into the photo session. It really helped our 6 year old get out of her shell and show her true beauty and personality. If you've read any of my blogs before, you know that I am very careful when adding props to a photo session. I never want the prop to distract or take away from the subject whether it's newborns, families, or child portrait photos. The prop is there to enhance the mood (say...add fun because we're celebrating a birthday) or to create an appealing aesthetic or composition like the mirror and dresser setting.
